Gutter Guppies - STARTS JUNE 15th GUPPY EVALUATIONS - TUES. MAY 18, at ACALANES! A-J at 5pm, K-Z at 5:30pm! The LMYA Gutter Guppy Team is designed for 3-6 year old pre-team swimmers who are not quite ready for the 6 & under team, which competes in meets each week. All swimmers must swim and breathe unassisted for 15 feet. The Gutter Guppy team will participate in a real LMYA swim meet at the end of the season held on July 25th. Evaluation Days and Enrollment

Registration & Fees
Gutter Guppies do not need to register during the general team registration in March. All Gutter Guppy team members can register via mail or in person on Evaluation Day after being evaluated. Placement will be made on a first come first served basis. Swimmers must be 6 and under as of June 15. $350 per Guppy. The ratio of children to coaches is 4:1 or less.
Runs from June 16 through August 8 (8 weeks). Lessons are held 4 days per week, Monday through Thursday from 10:30 to 11:00AM and 11:00-11:30AM. Gutter Guppy meet is July 25th. Guppy Practice Holidays are Monday, July 13th & Monday, August 3rd. On Aug. 3rd we will have a Team Party from 12:00noon-2:00pm Guppies included.
Goal
To focus on the development of the four basic strokes (freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly). By the end of the program, most children are able to swim the length of the 25 yard pool alone. Every child has the opportunity to join the 6 & under team at any time during the swim season after mastering specific skills.
Graduation
The Gutter Guppy team has the opportunity to participate in a real LMYA swim meet at the end of the season. Upon exiting the pool after their race, each child will receive a ribbon.
